Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity improves the system of providing rehabilitation aids to persons with disabilities, military personnel and war victims
The Government has adopted a resolution developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine that improves and simplifies the procedures for providing rehabilitation aids to persons with disabilities, military personnel and war victims.
According to the resolution, digital mechanisms for providing rehabilitation aids have been improved and the number of paper and scanned copies of documents currently required to obtain such products has been reduced.
The procedure for obtaining liners and covers for the stumps of the upper and lower limbs has also been simplified.
The list of documents for obtaining rehabilitation aids for civilians affected by the armed aggression of the russian federation, in particular, those who were injured or otherwise damaged as a result of hostilities, has been optimized.
Access to high-quality prosthetics and orthotics, including products with increased functionality, has been expanded for foreign and stateless military personnel.
In addition, military personnel and civilians will have the opportunity to learn how to use auxiliary rehabilitation devices (tactile cane, wheelchair, mobile phone) while undergoing rehabilitation in state rehabilitation institutions. The grounds for this may be a decision of the MEC, a conclusion of the MCC, or a referral from a military unit of the Armed Forces or other units of the Defense Forces.
These are necessary steps that will ensure that people with disabilities, military personnel and war victims can receive assistance faster, easier and more efficiently.
