    Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, posted 17 December 2024 18:08

    A sum of UAH 15 billion will be redistributed for the eVidnovlennia state program for internally displaced persons. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.

    Thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and with the support of MPs, internally displaced persons who are currently waiting for compensation for destroyed housing under the eVidnovlennia program will be eligible to receive a certificate for the purchase of housing.

    The Ministry of Social Policy will allocate UAH 15 billion of the remaining funds under the Ministry's budget programs to provide housing for internally displaced persons who have lost their only home due to the aggression of the russian federation (they have no other housing in relatively safe regions of the country) and are waiting for compensation.

    The relevant resolution, drafted by the Ministry of Social Policy jointly with the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and the Ministry of Finance, was adopted by the Government at its meeting.

    “This decision demonstrates critical changes in the support of internally displaced persons. Thanks to the allocated funds, more than 10,000 families will get their own housing, which means they will feel confident in their new communities, adapt to new conditions faster, find employment and not go abroad, but continue to build their lives in Ukraine. A set of solutions aimed at meeting the needs for housing, financial and psychological support, employment or retraining, will faster adapt to new conditions, find employment and not go abroad, but continue to build their lives in Ukraine. A set of solutions aimed at meeting the needs for housing, financial and psychological support, employment or retraining ensures a person's exit from difficult life circumstances and adaptation, and is a priority of the Ministry of Social Policy,” said Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych.

    The Ministry of Social Policy continues to work to provide IDPs with comprehensive support. Therefore, in addition to financial assistance for accommodation, a number of other initiatives are being implemented.

    In particular:

    - a new one-time financial assistance called the Warm Winter has been introduced, with a payment of UAH 6,500 each for IDP families from vulnerable categories with children, for each child under 18, and for persons with disabilities of group 1 from vulnerable categories;

    - inpatient care and assisted living services for IDPs with disabilities and the elderly on the principle of “money follows the person”. That is, the state provides money to internally displaced persons with disabilities who need care to pay for such care;

    - a new support tool, a subsidy for renting housing for IDPs, will be launched at the end of January;

    - IDPs can receive psychological assistance free of charge at the Invincibility Centers, operating in 23 regions of Ukraine.
