An online international Ukrainian-Turkish meeting was held at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Representatives of the governments of the two countries discussed support for Ukrainian children evacuated to Turkey.
The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and the National Social Service.
The Turkish side was represented by Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services İsmail Ergüneş and other Turkish child welfare agencies.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Turkey has sheltered more than a thousand Ukrainian children. Among them are orphans deprived of parental care and other vulnerable children.
Turkish representatives stressed their commitment to continue creating the best conditions for our little citizens.
"Our dream is for children to grow up under a peaceful sky and not know what war and natural disasters are," İsmail Ergüneş said.
The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Turkish people for their comprehensive support of our children.
At the same time, the participants of the meeting stressed that Ukraine seeks to take a proactive part in all issues related to the protection of the rights of Ukrainian children.
The parties agreed on a visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the Republic of Turkey to be held in the near future.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkish side expressed its readiness to continue providing humanitarian and political support to Ukraine.
