An online meeting between the Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet and the Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia Simona Kustec took place today.

The Ukrainian Minister told Ms. Simona Kustec about the situation in Ukraine, in particular in the field of education and science. The directions of organizing the educational process for Ukrainian children both on the territory of Ukraine and for those who were forced to flee the war abroad were discussed as one of the acute issues.

Also during the conversation, the parties raised the issue of completing the 2021/2022 academic year under martial law.

Serhiy Shkarlet asked Ms. Simona Kustec to provide our children with access to Ukrainian culture, language and education both through the use of national distance learning platforms and Slovenian resources.

"We wish that after the war our children return to their homes, rebuilt kindergartens, schools and universities. We commend the manifestation of unity with Ukraine and express our gratitude for the support," he said.

The Minister expressed his conviction that by joining efforts it would be possible to preserve the future of Ukrainian children who will no longer see war and will live in a peaceful and prosperous society.
