"Its story began exactly eight years ago. When several hundreds of Maidan volunteers, seeing a real threat to Ukraine's territorial integrity, said they would continue to defend their homeland. And we went to the training ground, and from there - to Donbas. Thus, the first battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine was created, " the Minister wrote on his Facebook page.

According to the Minister, for eight years the National Guard has been holding the bar of the Defender of Ukraine, repelling the enemy. And they continue to accomplish this by being together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the advanced defense of our state.

During the month of the war, the President of Ukraine awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to eight servicemen of the National Guard, and also awarded 477 soldiers of the National Guard with other state awards.

Thank you for your resilience, for your dedication, for your patriotism, for your courage and humanity. You are the brand and pride of the Ukrainian people, " wrote Denys Monastyrskyy.
