Minister and State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers visit the European Youth Capital
Today, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov and State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema took part in the official ceremony "Opening of the Year of the 2025 European Youth Capital".
"As the Chairman of the Coordination Council for the Promotion of Ukrainian National and Civic Identity, I am very pleased that despite the difficult times in our country, Lviv has become the European Youth Capital for the first time. This status will open up new opportunities for innovations, establishing connections with European youth leaders and strengthening the role of Ukrainian youth. For many years now, Lviv has been actively developing youth spaces, holding major youth events, developing strategies and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. I sincerely hope that this will enable the development and discovery of the talent of a large number of young Ukrainians," said Oleh Nemchinov, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The European Youth Capital is not only about Lviv, but also about the whole of Ukraine. Next year, an all-Ukrainian programme will be launched to promote European practices in Ukrainian cities.
"For many years, Lviv has been actively developing its youth policy, creating conditions for young people's self-realisation. When Lviv became the Youth Capital of Ukraine in 2018, it gave a powerful impetus to the development of youth policy, infrastructure, and initiatives in the city and region. Lviv has become a magnet for various youth projects from all over the country, resulting into obtaining the status of European Youth Capital," said the State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
