Today, November 8, 2022, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu.
The Minister informed the Ambassador of Spain about the challenges of the educational process under martial law and the priority needs to ensure uninterrupted education. He underlined the importance of further support aimed to ensure the restoration of education and science in Ukraine.
The parties discussed the issue of education of Ukrainian children who are forced to stay abroad due to the military aggression of russia.
Sergiy Shkarlet said that the state is doing everything possible to support the most vulnerable students, actively seeking the involvement of international partners.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine stressed the importance of learning Spanish in Ukrainian educational institutions and noted the need to continue cooperation within the framework of the Declaration of Intent on cooperation in the field of general secondary education signed a year ago.
During the meeting, Mr. Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu handed over to the Minister a draft international administrative agreement on cooperation in the field of general secondary education.
Serhii Shkarlet assured Mr. Ambassador of readiness for further collaboration and implementation of joint initiatives in the field of education and science.
It should be reminded that foreign universities will provide support to Ukrainian male students to continue their studies.
