Today, on 8 February, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov met online with Minister for Economics of the Republic of Latvia Viktors Valainis.

During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of future cooperation, as well as the state of implementation of the agreements of the previous meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. In addition, the parties agreed to hold the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Ukraine in the spring.

Background

The 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held on 23 March 2023 in Riga, Latvia. The Commission is co-chaired by the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Minister for Economics of Latvia. The Commission works in the following areas: bilateral economic relations; support for Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration; support for Ukraine and its people; cooperation in transport; cooperation in agriculture and forestry; cooperation in digital transformation; cooperation in energy; cooperation in clean technologies; cooperation in space; cooperation in education and science, youth policy, physical culture and sports; cooperation in regional development, spatial planning and land management.
