On 6 November, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov met with Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Mathias Cormann.
During the meeting the parties discussed:
“Cooperation with the OECD is very important for us, as it is an important foundation for the implementation of Ukraine’s strategic goals: full accession to the OECD, EU and NATO, and Ukraine’s recovery from the consequences of the war,” said Oleh Nemchinov, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at the beginning of the meeting. He also thanked the OECD and Mathias Cormann personally for their strong support and commitment to cooperation despite the major challenges of the war.
In parallel with the cooperation with the OECD, the Government of Ukraine is currently working on a plan of all the reforms that Ukraine needs to implement, in particular to meet international commitments, recommendations and requirements in strategically important areas. These commitments are contained in a number of documents, which need to be synchronised as they largely focus on the same issues and areas of development. The OECD Programme for Ukraine is one such document.
Deepening and strengthening cooperation with the OECD is one of Ukraine’s priorities for transforming its economy and promoting its deep integration into international markets. The Government pursues a consistent policy of implementing international standards in various spheres of life in accordance with OECD recommendations.
