The first meeting between Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yurii Vaskov and representatives of the Logistics Committee of the European Business Association (EBA) took place.
The conversation revolved around a key topic, which is the development of modern river and sea infrastructure. Namely:
Prospects for further reduction of port dues.
Work with the relevant bylaws on the law on inland water transport.
Work on the draft law on the establishment of the State Fund of Inland Waterways.
A separate focus of the meeting is the work of stevedores, in particular:
• the need to finalize the rules for the provision of services in seaports;
• changes in the maintenance of the Register of Seaports and the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers;
• the procedure for compensating for investments in port infrastructure and the expectations of the business community to approve the relevant document by the Government.
"Cooperation and constructive dialogue with representatives of expert business associations are important for the Ministry. The EBA - our strategic partners in many issues, including the development of water infrastructure. At present, the water sector needs to be reformed and this is often possible through investment, including in strategic facilities. We are actively working to develop the necessary legislative changes for the industry. Today I had my first meeting with colleagues, but I am confident that we will continue our cooperation in the future, " Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yurii Vaskov stressed.
Bringing together more than 1,000 companies, the EBA is one of the largest Ukrainian business communities. One of the areas of activity of the EBA is the protection of the interests of foreign and domestic investors at the state level. The EBA works with the support of the European Commission in Ukraine.
