Deputy Minister of Energy for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov and Director of the Energy Community Secretariat Artur Lorkowski signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Energy Community Secretariat on coordination of activities in the field of energy support to Ukraine.

The Memorandum provides a basis for strengthening the coordination of efforts, joint and individual activities of the Ministry of Energy and the Secretariat to support Ukraine in restoring the damaged energy infrastructure and ensuring the stable functioning of the energy system.

"From the very beginning of the war, the Ministry of Energy has been closely cooperating with the Energy Community Secretariat. We highly appreciate the assistance of the Secretariat and the activities of the Operational Support Group for Ukraine, which has already coordinated the delivery of significant amounts of energy equipment and materials from 20 European countries. Strengthening the coordination and synchronization of our efforts will help to speed up the delivery of equipment and materials, which is now extremely necessary for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy system," said Yaroslav Demchenkov.

The parties to the Memorandum will take measures to guarantee the most efficient, transparent and integral process of distribution of resources provided to Ukraine among end consumers.

The exchange of information and experience between the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Community Secretariat will take place on a continuous basis, through regular online meetings, to inform about developments and plans for individual activities of the parties.

The Memorandum also sets out the parties' commitment to engage in a joint information campaign, in particular for European industry, to organise online or physical events to achieve this goal, and to prepare reports, information and joint communication materials.

According to the Memorandum, the Secretariat, together with the Ministry of Energy, will use its resources to raise awareness about the organised cooperation and process between potential donor companies, industry associations, EU Member States, Energy Community Contracting Parties, third countries, EU institutions and others, with the intention to attract assistance with energy equipment and materials according to the needs of Ukrainian energy companies.

The Secretariat will also assist donor companies in preparing documents necessary for the transportation of energy goods.

The Ministry of Energy, in turn, will regularly update and provide the Secretariat with a list of Ukraine's needs, as well as all the necessary documentation for the delivery of humanitarian goods to Ukraine and the distribution of equipment to the final recipients.
