Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry improves internal audit system

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry in line with the Strategy for Reforming the Public Finance Management System for 2017-2020 with the support of the Bilateral Cooperation Project between the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands launched a pilot internal audit project.

The project is aimed at strengthening the responsibility of executive officers for the management and development of the institution as a whole (managerial responsibility and accountability) and their qualitative performance of planning and organization tasks, the formation of an adequate internal control structure, supervision over the implementation of internal audit and risk management.

Within the framework of the pilot project, a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands was held on October 25 at the premises of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister Yulia Podkomorna with the participation of experts from the Department of Internal Audit, other structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and specialists of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The participants of the event discussed the stages of implementation of the pilot project.
