Ministry of Energy has invited international partners to participate in the development of Ukraine's Energy Strategy until 2050

Deputy Minister of Energy Maksym Nemchynov held a coordination meeting with international partners to organize cooperation both during the development of Ukraine's Energy Strategy until 2050 and at the stage of its further implementation.

"Ukraine's renewed Energy Strategy with a planning horizon until 2050 should take into account global trends, technological development, strategic guidelines for decarbonisation and current challenges of the national energy sector," said Maksym Nemchynov.

The international partners are presented with an approach to the development of the Strategy, which should take into account, in particular, the following strategic goals:

• increasing the level of energy security and energy independence of Ukraine,

• integration of the UES of Ukraine into the pan-European energy system ENTSO-E,

• implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and further path towards energy neutrality,

• development of new technologies and types of energy resources,

• increasing the readiness of the energy system to increase RES capacity,

• development of the nuclear sector,

• transformation of the coal sector, etc.

The event was attended by representatives of the energy sector of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, the Eastern Partnership, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. OECD), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine (UNDP), the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany, GIZ, the German Energy Agency, the Energy Security Project, the embassies of Great Britain, Germany, Slovenia, Romania and Norway, Poland, Sweden in Ukraine, the Secretariat of the German-Ukrainian Partnership, the Danish Energy Agency, the Northern Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO), decarbonisation experts, etc.
