On 22 September, the Ministry of Economy signed a Memorandum with the Projector Institute educational platform during the Regional Economic Forum. The document was signed by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, on behalf of the Ministry of Economy.
"Today we are taking another important step towards our military, who protect us at the cost of their health and lives. Our task is to help them adapt to civilian life, acquire new skills and start their own business. The Projector Foundation will become a new partner to help the Ministry of Economy. Projector will conduct trainings for veterans on how to start their own business, how to write a business plan or create a business model, and provide mentoring in the creative and tech industries," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine added that the Ministry of Economy had been implementing the eRobota programme for over a year, which combines several grant projects, including those for veterans. Under the Own Business component, veterans and their spouses can receive a grant of UAH 250,000 to UAH 1 million to develop their own business.
So far, 100 veterans and their family members have won grants worth UAH 40 million under this programme. There will be four more waves of applications by the end of the year. The total amount of funding is UAH 340 million.
In addition, to help wounded veterans feel comfortable in their workplaces, the Government has introduced compensation for businesses for arranging inclusive workplaces. In this way, we hope to equip as many barrier-free spaces in Ukraine as possible. For an equipped workplace for people with disability group 1, one can get UAH 100,500, for people with disability group 2 - UAH 67,000.
