The USAID Business Resilience Investment Project in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine announces the launch of a new grant programme for medium and large enterprises. The total amount of funding is USD 15 million. One business will have an opportunity to receive a grant from USD 250,000 to USD 2,000,000.

Companies with an estimated minimum annual sales volume of USD 8 million in hryvnia equivalent are invited to participate in the programme. This figure is important given that the target sales increase based on the results of the concept implementation should be at least USD 2 million.

Programme participants must use the grant funding to develop their business. In particular, to increase sales, boost exports and create new jobs.

"The new USAID grant programme is another example of our partners' support for Ukraine. It will help develop the processing industry and facilitate the transition from raw material exports to exports of value-added goods. Our top priority now is to revive competencies in the production of complex goods and to at least double the share of the manufacturing industry in Ukraine's GDP. From 8%, as it was in 2022, to 20%, which is the OECD standard for developed countries. We can achieve this target by 2032," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

The condition for participation in the programme is the investment of additional funds - the company's own funds or other resources raised by the company. Programme participants will be selected in two stages. The first is the evaluation of concepts. At the second stage, the participants whose concepts are recognised as the best will be invited to submit detailed grant applications. One of the criteria for evaluating the concepts will be the number of jobs created.

Concepts must be submitted no later than 29 February 2024. They are expected to be implemented within 12-24 months.
