The number of officially registered unemployed in Ukraine is 308,000 people. This is by 19% less than during the similar period of 2021. Since the beginning of hostilities, 154,000 Ukrainians have received the status of registered unemployed.

Maximum employment of the population remains a key task of the Government. To minimize unemployment, the Ministry of Economy is working to restore and develop businesses and boost consumer demand.

Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Diadiura during the telethon UARazom spoke about the steps taken by the Government for the employment of Ukrainians:

The Law №2220-IX developed by the Ministry of Economy “On Amendments to Some Laws of Ukraine on the Functioning of Employment Sectors and Compulsory State Social Insurance in Case of Unemployment during Martial Law” was adopted. This law significantly simplifies the process of registering a person for unemployment through digital channels, including the Diia portal and application. The right of the State Employment Service to accept an application for dismissal from a person is also determined if the enterprise does not work and the connection with the employer is lost.

Together with the leading job search sites work.ua, robota.ua and others, a single vacancy database is being created, in which the maximum number of offers will be accumulated. Recently, an international company with a representative office in Ukraine jooble.ua, which has a wide base of vacancies throughout Ukraine, also joined the project.

Relocation of enterprises continues. 606 companies have already completed relocation from areas where hostilities continue. 392 of them have already resumed work. As of April, tens of thousands of people worked at the relocated enterprises, including new employees in the regions.

The Ministry of Economy is currently working to support local businesses. Companies are provided assistance in finding new markets, ordering the necessary raw materials, and supporting exports. Enterprises receive support in expanding production, while Ukrainians - new employment opportunities.
