The Government of Ukraine will prolong supporting Ukrainian athletes on the path towards their professional achievements. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced during a ceremony of meeting of the National Paralympic Team of Ukraine.

"Our Paralympic Team is the embodiment of a strong will and courage and the years of training. The Government, for its part, is doing everything and will exert every effort in the future for you to realize your full potential and be at the high. With this purpose we have already eliminated difference in prize payouts. Paralympic athletes now have the same payouts as the Olympic athletes. Your victory is our dignity", the Head of Government stressed.

Background

On March 18, PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games wound up. The Ukrainian team won 22 medals: 7 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze. Our team ranked sixth in the overall medal standings.
