The Ministry of Health of Ukraine is working to ensure that patients with systemic Biett’s disease are provided with the primary medications for treatment. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxym Stepanov.
The Ministry of Health has already agreed on additional supplies of the drug used to treat the disease.
"Every person’s life is important to us. People suffering from systemic Biett’s disease should know that they will be supplied with a cure for treatment. There are about 14,000 such patients in the country. We have developed a mechanism that will allow us to avoid the shortage of the necessary drug," said Maxym Stepanov.
According to the Minister of Health, the Ministry has already agreed with the manufacturing company to ship an additional batch of the medication across the country. The company will continue uninterrupted delivery of the drug throughout 2020.
"This batch will be available for patients having Biett’s disease and other systemic diseases. The drug will be included in the "Available Medicines" program and can be purchased only by electronic prescription and in defined pharmacies across the country," told Maxym Stepanov.
