Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian farmers have received more than UAH 34.5 billion in bank loans for farm development. Of these, 5,300 businesses received almost UAH 20 billion under the Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme.

The top regions receiving the largest amount of loans under various programmes were as follows:

• Kyiv region – UAH 7.3 billion;
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 3.7 billion;
• Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 2.8 billion;
• Kirovohrad region – UAH 2.7 billion;
• Odesa region – UAH 2.3 billion.

At the same time, businesses in the following regions received the most funds under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme:

• Kirovohrad region – UAH 2.3 billion for 790 farms;
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 2.1 billion for 682 farms;
• Kyiv region – UAH 1.94 billion for 423 farms;
• Odesa region – UAH 1.91 billion for 524 farms.

Background

The Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme simplifies access to bank lending for micro and small businesses. Farmers can receive a loan of up to UAH 90 million. Loans are provided at an annual interest rate of 5-9%, depending on the loan category and the type of business.
