Online auctions in the state electronic trading system Prozorro.Sale brought the organisers almost UAH 19.7 billion in 2024. This is the result of more than 24,000 successful auctions in the system. During the auctions, the value of public assets increased by more than 1.5 times on average.
In 2024, online privatisation auctions brought the most money to the organisers. As a result of large and small-scale privatisation auctions, budgets of various levels received almost UAH 6.5 billion and over UAH 4 billion, respectively.
“In 2024, we launched large-scale privatisation and managed to find new owners for such large assets as the Ukraina Hotel, the United Mining and Chemical Company and the sanctioned Aerok plant. The assets were given a chance to transform and attract investment for development. Successful auctions demonstrate confidence, as the system ensures equal access to bidding. Thanks to competition, the value of the assets increases and the state sells them at a market price, increasing budget revenues,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The sale of assets in bankruptcy proceedings brought over UAH 2.6 billion to the organisers. The top five markets with the largest amount of funds raised also include land auctions – over UAH 2.1 billion – and special permits for subsoil use – over UAH 1.6 billion.
“In 2024, a record number of bidders – almost 30,000 – competed for public assets in online auctions over the entire life of the system. Last year also saw the highest number of organisers using the system – almost 3,800. In the course of the war, we have noticed that small, medium and large companies are competing even more actively for the right to buy property at auction. An increasing number of local authorities, state-owned enterprises, relevant agencies, insolvency officers, private executors and businesses are also using the online auction tool to effectively manage public assets,” said CEO of Prozorro.Sale Sergiy Boote.
The most expensive lot in 2024 was the object of large-scale privatisation – the United Mining and Chemical Company. As a result of the auction, the state budget received almost UAH 3.9 billion. On average, almost 2.4 bidders competed for public assets in 2024. Last year, the most active competition was for 100 undelivered Ukrposhta parcels. 115 bidders increased the value of the lot more than 130 times.
Almost 2,300 online auctions held in 2024 are at the stage of signing agreements. They can bring an additional UAH 3 billion to the organisers.
