Almost 14.4 million Ukrainians have applied for the Winter ePidtrymka programme, announced the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a Government session on February 28.

"These are record figures for the national programme, indicating its urgency and importance for our people," the Head of Government stressed.

He also noted that today marked the last day to apply for the payment of UAH 1,000 under the Winter ePidtrymka programme and stressed that the funds received could be spent until the end of this year.

According to Denys Shmyhal, a number of programmes introduced under the Winter Support programme will continue despite the end of the winter period.

In particular, the monthly supplementary payment to teachers will remain in place, with almost 500,000 teachers continuing to receive it. Primary school students will also still enjoy free meals. As of today, more than 1 million children are provided with meals.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal noted that utility subsidies would remain in place, and applications for rental subsidies for IDPs would continue to be accepted. The Affordable Medicines programme will also expand. The eKnyha (eBook) programme is a success among young Ukrainians, with 108,000 applications already received under this programme.

"This spring, we also plan to introduce new programmes and extend the existing social support for Ukrainian families," the Prime Minister emphasized.
