Border posts will conduct temperature screening of people returning from Italy. Border guards have worked out all the algorithms in case of detection of signs of the infection - at checkpoints, there are temporary isolation rooms. They are then transferred to isolation rooms in specialized hospitals. Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko announced at a briefing.

“The MOH is fully prepared to treat patients and provide quality assistance when needed. We now have over 2,000 infectious disease specialists, over 5,000 medical staff and some infectious disease wards used in the early stages of an epidemic or outbreak. The primary task is to prevent the virus from arrival into Ukraine,” Viktor Liashko said.

Head of the State Border Guard Service Serhii Deyneko added that all passengers of direct flights to Ukraine will be carefully screened at the airports of Boryspil and Zhuliany. Currently, about 20 inbound flights per week are accepted from Italy.

“Moreover, the Tysa in Zakarpattia region is a border checkpoint with the largest entry capacity in Ukraine with over 500 vehicles entering the country from Italy on a daily basis. From 8:00 a.m., there will be introduced a temperature screening for all people who are entering the territory of Ukraine. We take all necessary measures to prevent the arrival of the infection,” said Serhii Deyneko.

It should be noted that no cases of coronavirus disease have been reported and detected in Ukraine. At the same time, all agencies are ready and mobilized to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Today marks the fifth day when Ukrainians evacuated from China have been staying under observation in Novi Sanzhary - all of them are feeling well, no body temperature rise has been detected among the citizens.
