On October 2, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Antonio Tajani in Kyiv.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the recovery needs. Thus, in the joint Ukrainian-Italian Communiqué, Italy announced that it would take patronage of the reconstruction of Odesa and Odesa region in order to speed up the process of their recovery from the consequences of russian aggression.
"We welcome the launch of Confindustria's representative office in Ukraine and the readiness of the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE) to provide financial guarantees to Italian companies. We appreciate the active position of the Italian Government in supporting the rapid recovery of Ukraine," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked Italy for its military, humanitarian and sanctions support. He emphasized that Ukraine expected the adoption of the 12th package of sanctions, which should be aimed at preventing the supply of Western high-tech equipment to russia.
Denys Shmyhal noted that our country highly valued the consistent support of the Italian Government and people in the fight against the russian aggressor for freedom, democracy, and the right to be a full-fledged part of the EU and NATO.
