Svitlana Grynchuk, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, met with Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu, Ambassador of Spain to Ukraine.
The parties discussed the search for alternative energy sources, in particular with a focus on supporting critical infrastructure.
“The realities of war dictate the need to develop green energy. Spain has an interesting approach to the development of solar energy, which we are ready to study. We have agreed to deepen the dialog between our experts at the technical level,” said Svitlana Grynchuk.
The recent natural disasters in Spain remind us of the relevance of climate protection, which this country understands at a deep level. It is our reliable partner in climate initiatives.
Svitlana Grynchuk spoke about the environmental impact of the war and the problems with water supply in the frontline regions. This is one of the key areas of the Government's activities that requires the support of international partners.
“I am grateful to Mr. Ambassador for the frank dialog and sincerity in understanding the problems of environmental protection in the context of war. I am confident that together we will succeed in implementing many promising ideas,” Svitlana Grynchuk thanked.
