Ihor Klymenko visits Sumy region
In Sumy, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, together with Minister of Health Viktor Liashko and Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov, held a meeting with community leaders. The focus was on the safety of the local population, evacuation from frontline communities – particularly families with children – and the organisation of services for citizens during prolonged air raid alerts. The Minister shared this information on his official Telegram channel.
He stated that the region had endured over 12,000 russian strikes in the past five months, describing it as the reality in which the region lives. He emphasised that in such circumstances, the coordinated work of emergency services – police, rescuers, and medical personnel – was critical to ensuring people receive assistance quickly and without bureaucratic delays.
Separately, Ihor Klymenko held a meeting with National Guard members, border guards, police, and rescuers, with a briefing from the Head of the State Border Guard Service, Serhii Deineko. They discussed the operational situation in the region, the results of neutralising enemy assets, and issues related to material and technical support.
The Minister expressed gratitude to all personnel for their service, noting that some were awarded state and departmental honours. He stressed the importance of their presence in communities, stating that it was not only about the visibility of emergency services but also about building trust.
