All services continue to eliminate the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, despite constant shelling. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko on his Telegram channel.
"In July, russian occupants fired over 660 times at Kherson region. 130 people were injured: 30 were killed and 107 wounded. The enemy does not allow people to recover after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. Today, I held a meeting of the headquarters for flood relief. The daily shelling makes the situation much more difficult. But the responsible services continue to work. Ensuring a stable water supply is still No. 1 issue. The settlements in Kherson region that do not have water supply are provided with water for drinking and industrial purposes. Preparatory work for well drilling is already at the final stage," said Ihor Klymenko.
The Minister also said that the clearing of houses and streets is ongoing. Every day, utility companies remove more than 1,200 tonnes of garbage from the Korabel district of Kherson alone. Power engineers are working to fully restore electricity to the population, but in some places the groundwater level does not allow this to happen yet.
"All the issues are under control. Liquidation measures are ongoing," said Ihor Klymenko.
