Ivan Vyhivskyi, the Minister of the Internal Affairs of Ukraine, held a working meeting with representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine

Ivan Vyhivskyi held a working meeting with Richard Saunders, the Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Section at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Ukraine, and William Solley, the newly appointed Director of that Section, who will shortly take up his duties, as well as Ryan Trunk, the Programme Officer at the INL Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.

At the start of the meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the United States of America for its unwavering support for Ukraine and, in particular, for the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Ivan Vyhivskyi emphasised that cooperation with the INL Section of the US Embassy is extremely effective. 

According to his statement, the majority of the international logistical and material assistance received, in particular by the National Police of Ukraine, is provided precisely thanks to the support of American partners. 

“Cooperation with the INL Section of the U.S. Embassy remains one of the key areas of international engagement of our Ministry. It is thanks to the ongoing support of the U.S. that our units receive modern equipment, undergo training and strengthen their capabilities,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.  

Ivan Vyhivskyi briefed his colleagues on the security situation in Ukraine: daily attacks on civilian infrastructure, communities near the frontline as well as critical and socially vital infrastructure. The Minister noted that the assistance provided by the United States of America is extremely important for strengthening resilience and responding to these challenges. 

The parties discussed further implementation of joint projects, development of unmanned technologies, strengthening of the state border and protection of critical infrastructure. Ivan Vyhivskyi expressed his gratitude to Richard Saunders for years of fruitful cooperation. At the same time, he congratulated William Solley, noting that the partnership would remain strong and effective.
