Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with Director of the Energy Community Secretariat Artur Lorkowski on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.
The parties discussed the integration of Ukraine’s energy markets with those of the European Union, regulatory changes to reduce risks in the field of gas storage in Ukraine, the improvement of electricity exchanges between the European Union and Ukraine and the activities of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The meeting emphasised that the adoption of a number of regulatory decisions, developed with the participation of representatives of the Energy Community Secretariat and the European Commission, will increase the confidence of European traders in the Ukrainian market and create favourable business conditions for the storage of significant volumes of gas in Ukraine until the next winter season.
The discussion also focused on cooperation to increase electricity exchanges between Ukraine and European countries, which was crucial for ensuring stable and secure energy supplies, as well as agreed steps to further market integration.
The parties also noted the successful cooperation in the work of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and underlined the need to use this mechanism to prepare the energy sector for winter and strengthen its resilience.
