  • German Galushchenko: Rebuilding Ukraine’s energy sector using modern approaches is the best investment for business
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 14 February 2024 16:14

Ukraine is interested in attracting the widest possible range of international investors to restore and rebuild the energy sector, which should be carried out with the introduction of innovative technologies.

This was emphasised by Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko during the Government-Industry Dialogue held as part of the events organised to mark the 50th anniversary of the International Energy Agency in Paris.

The Energy Minister stressed that as a result of russian attacks, about 50% of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure was damaged or destroyed.

“But we are already working on projects to rebuild the energy sector. This will not be just a restoration of facilities using old technologies, our goal is to modernise and rebuild them with the introduction of the most advanced energy technologies. We want to encourage businesses to modernise our energy infrastructure,” the Minister said.

German Galushchenko noted that last year the Energy Strategy of Ukraine was adopted, which defined the key areas of energy development: decentralisation of power generation, development of renewable and nuclear energy capacities.

“We are planning an extensive programme to rebuild Ukraine. It will involve the implementation of the best innovations and practices, so we invite businesses to actively participate in this process,” the Minister said.
