On March 1, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Croatia Davor Filipović in Zagreb.

The parties focused on strengthening energy security in the region. It is important given the fact that Croatia began diversifying its energy supply sources long before russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“We highly appreciate Croatia’s efforts to diversify energy supplies and build oil and gas pipeline infrastructure. We must continue to coordinate efforts to increase pressure on russia and impose sanctions on the nuclear industry of the aggressor state,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

The parties also discussed future cooperation in rebuilding Ukraine’s energy sector. German Galushchenko emphasized that this process would be accompanied by Ukraine’s integration into European energy markets and would open up wide opportunities for deepening cooperation with Croatia.
