Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Tan See Leng on the sidelines of the first ministerial meeting of the Net Zero World Initiative in Seattle, USA.
The parties discussed areas of cooperation in restoring Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the face of ongoing russian attacks.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening the resilience of the energy system, increasing its flexibility, improving the physical protection of energy infrastructure facilities and tools that would allow for decentralised power generation.
German Galushchenko noted that Ukraine was interested in learning from Singapore’s experience in the development of solar power generation, in particular the installation of solar panels on the roofs of high-rise buildings and the installation of photovoltaic panels on the surfaces of water bodies. In addition, the Ukrainian side is interested in Singapore’s experience in implementing hydrogen technologies.
The parties also discussed nuclear and radiation safety. German Galushchenko emphasised that russia should be held accountable for violating the seven basic pillars of nuclear safety defined by the international community.
