Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led by Arvid Tuerkner, Managing Director for Ukraine and Moldova.

The discussion focused on cooperation in attracting additional financing to ensure Ukraine’s energy stability and resilience in the face of russian aggression and targeted attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

German Galushchenko outlined the current situation in the fuel and energy sector in view of the latest attacks on critical infrastructure and informed the EBRD representatives about the measures being implemented and planned to complete the current and next heating season.

“We are grateful to the EBRD for many years of fruitful cooperation and look forward to further partnership. The Bank’s support allows us to restore damaged infrastructure, develop new projects and prepare for future challenges. This cooperation helps ensure the stable operation of the power system, especially in times of war,” the Minister said.

The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation in implementing projects to develop distributed power generation, modernise electricity transmission systems and stimulate the development of renewable energy.
