German Galushchenko: The only reasons for power outages these days are weather conditions and military operations

Ukraine's power system is ready to withstand the winter. Consumers will not be disconnected unless there are massive enemy attacks on energy facilities or natural disasters.

This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko on the air of the Yedyni Novyny (United News) national telethon.

"Unfortunately, the weather conditions are rather complicated today. This week, the storm raged in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions, where power engineers have already restored electricity supply in almost all settlements. Unfortunately, today the storm has moved to the western regions of our country, causing blackouts," he said.

According to the recent data, as of 14:00 on 2 December, 603 settlements were without power as a result of the weather. Most of them are in the Lviv region, where 454 settlements remain without power. The weather was also the reason of power cutoff in settlements in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions.

"We are going to work actively in these regions. The maximum number of brigades and equipment from all over Ukraine will be deployed to restore power supply to consumers as soon as possible," said German Galushchenko.
