
German Galushchenko and Bridget Brink discuss restoration of energy infrastructure and preparations for next cold season
Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget Brink. The parties discussed cooperation in restoring the energy infrastructure damaged by russian attacks and preparations for the coming winter.
German Galushchenko thanked the United States for supporting Ukraine in countering russian aggression, particularly on the energy front.
“We greatly appreciate the leading role of the United States, in particular at the regular G7+ meetings, and the coordination of countries’ efforts to help Ukraine restore its energy infrastructure. This international support helped us to get through the extremely difficult heating season, and we thank our partners for their willingness to continue supporting Ukraine’s energy sector,” the Minister said.
The Head of the Ministry of Energy briefed the Ambassador on the work being done to restore power generation facilities and networks, stockpile equipment and fuel, and strengthen the physical protection of energy infrastructure in preparation for the next heating season.
The parties also discussed raising financial resources for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector, guarantee instruments and strengthening the resilience of the energy system.
