BC CALLISTO is the second vessel under the program launched by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in partnership with the UN World Food Programme. The first vessel, NORD VIND, arrived yesterday in the port of Djibouti, bringing 25,000 tonnes of humanitarian wheat from Ukraine to the people of Ethiopia.
Another two bulk carriers, NEVA and RUBYMAR, are being loaded in the port of Chornomorsk to carry 55,000 tonnes of humanitarian wheat for Somalia and Sudan.
In two days, the ports of Greater Odesa have sent 9 vessels with 336,000 tonnes of agricultural products for the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe. Since the beginning of the Grain Initiative, 13 million tonnes of Ukrainian food has been supplied worldwide.
