The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) starts its work in Ukraine. The first negotiations were conducted with the participation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
In March 2015, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund approved a four-year extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility for Ukraine. The arrangement amounts to $17.5 billion. Within the framework of the program, fundamental changes have been initiated and implemented in a number of areas. Cooperation with the IMF is an important component of the economic policy of the Government aimed at both strengthening the internal and external positions of the state and expanding cooperation with international partners. Since 1992 Ukraine has been a member of the International Monetary Fund.
