Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman urges the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NEURC) to conducts inspections of suppliers of energy resources in regions and to remedy the situation with the establishment of tariffs higher than forecasted. The Head of Government said this during A Question Time for the Government at the Verkhovna Rada.

"I am concerned about the situation. I call on citizens: pay only for actually consumed gas at a price of UAH 8.55 per cubic meter. Everything else is skullduggery on the part of suppliers. I gave instructions to prepare a decree and I appealed to the leadership of the  Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and NEURC.... It is necessary to support the NEURC in terms of control and fines because regional gas companies go beyond the limits of their powers, and people have to suffer from their actions", Volodymyr Groysman claimed.

The Head of Government also initiated the creation of a special working group on inspecting regional gas companies.
