Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman considers actions of some mayors that led to the disruption of the heating season as direct blackmail. People should not suffer because of such actions. This was announced by the Head of Government while answering journalists' questions in Vinnytsia.
He stressed that absolute majority of mayors prepared cities for the heating season in accordance with the schedule. And the Government did its utmost to ensure that Naftogaz of Ukraine accumulated sufficient amount of gas. There were also taken decisions on the possibility of restructuring debts as well as impossibility of disconnecting households from heating in winter. All the necessary conditions are created. And those who took advantage of them - have no problems.
"Those who failed to do their job began to blackmail people," Volodymyr Groysman said. "I had to intervene in this situation. In fact, we had to do the work for local authorities. However, everyone understands: the Cabinet of Ministers does not have a boiler house, and this is not a responsibility of Cabinet members to check the work of the heating system. This should be done by the local authorities. This is their direct responsibility. When the heating season is over, it is necessary to start preparing for the next one. People should not suffer."
