More than 50% of road construction projects planned for the current year have been completed or are seeing their final stage, and in September the Government expects overall estimate of the situation in the industry. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a Government meeting devoted to issues of road construction and development of the road network.
He accentuated that the construction machine "proceeds apace". The situation at the market is improving. But it is crucial to analyze what was applied and redistribute funds for projects that require additional resources.
"More than half of target have been hit. But in different regions performance varies. I have set clear objectives: to accelerate the pace (of construction), and demonstrate efficient and rfational use of funds", said Volodymyr Groysman. "We do inspections, there will be audits on completion of the objects. Aftermath, in September we will understand who has coped with the tasks, who has failed. Each case will be analysed and made public unless work could be organized properly, taking into account available resources".
The participants of the meeting stressed that in the regional context, among those showing off best performance are Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovograd, Lviv, Poltava, Ternopil, Kherson and Khmelnytsky regions, where the percentage of work exceeds 80%. In Chernivtsi and Sumy region, the situation is the worse.
