Under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo received another batch of aid - three power transformers with a capacity of 40 MVA each and seven hydraulic car lifts with 18-metre towers. The equipment was purchased with the funds of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
"This equipment is crucial for the frontline Zaporizhzhia region, whose power facilities are subject to constant enemy attacks. We are grateful to our international partners for their contributions to the Fund, which allow us to purchase the necessary equipment," said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
After the tests, the transformers will be installed at substations that have been damaged by the russia-backed attacks. And the new aerial lifts will be used to repair power grids.
In total, since the beginning of 2024, Zaporizhzhia power engineers have received 25 units of special equipment, more than 2,000 tonnes of consumables and fuel and lubricants, and 74 units of power equipment purchased with the funds of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
As a reminder, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established at the joint initiative of German Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson in spring 2022. It has accumulated more than EUR 545 million in already transferred and announced contributions. Over the past few weeks, Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom, Austria, Sweden, Iceland, and Estonia have contributed or declared their intentions to contribute to the Fund.
