Under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy, Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo has received yet another aid – special equipment purchased at the expense of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, established at the initiative of Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
“Zaporizhzhia is a frontline region. Every day, as a result of damage and destruction caused by shelling, consumers here lose power, but power engineers are diligently fulfilling their duties by restoring electricity supply. Thanks to our partners, we are able to replenish the technical equipment of energy companies,” said Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
Zaporizhzhia power engineers received four units of specialised machinery – a crawler bulldozer and backhoe loaders. The equipment will be used to clear the routes of high-voltage power lines to protect the grid from damage, as well as to install power poles, repair cable lines, and take measures to protect and strengthen substations.
The total cost of the equipment purchased is over UAH 18 million.
This is not the first delivery of equipment for Zaporizhzhia power engineers. In early January, during a visit to the region, Energy Minister German Galushchenko handed over four complete transformer substations, about 10 km of aerial bundled cable and more than 3,000 litres of oil for power transformers.
