The draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2021 envisages an increase in education expenditures by UAH 34 billion. The total budget of education (excluding local budgets resources) makes up UAH 173.8 billion. Acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet told.

He expressed hope that after the adoption of regional budgets, the general fund will grow by at least another UAH 100 billion.

The draft State Budget provides the sum worth UAH 102.5 billion for the payment of salaries to teachers engaged in general secondary education process, which is UAH 21.2 billion more than in 2020. During 2021, salaries will improve by almost 30%.

The subvention for the New Ukrainian School (NUS) is set at UAH 1.4 billion.

"Next year, a new subvention has been planned for educational institutions to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The draft budget envisages UAH 1 billion for these measures. The Ministry of Education and Science is working to increase the amount of expenditures on education," said the acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

It should be noted, the remains of the educational subvention can be used for the organization of safe training in schools - the Parliament approved changes to the State Budget-2020.
