Military expenditures remain one of key budget lines in the draft state budget for 2019, claims Prime Minister

Financing the army in terms of provision and modern weapons, as well as implementation of security and defense programs remain the priorities in  the draft state budget for 2019. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman made this statement during the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

He emphasized that this year, the Government, as in previous years, will timely submit the draft state budget to the Parliament and hold open discussions on the draft. And the previous size of the military budget will remain at least 5% of GDP.

"We understand that we need armaments and everything necessary for effective security and defense",  the Head of Government noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that allocation of funds even in conditions of high debt burden on the budget is only half the battle. The task of the recipients is to effectively use resources.
