Ukraine's energy system is working stably despite russia's constant attacks on the energy sector: German Galushchenko
Last year alone, russia launched 33 massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. However, despite this, Ukrainian power engineers have managed to keep the energy system intact and stable. This was emphasized by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko in his address to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the Questions Time for the Government.
"Today the system is operating in a balanced mode. And you can feel it in terms of providing consumers with the necessary electricity," the Minister said.
However, German Galushchenko emphasized that the situation in the energy sector remains difficult.
"First of all, as a result of the truly unprecedented attacks on the power system that took place last year. And this year, unfortunately, the attacks have resumed. There were large-scale attacks last week. And there are daily attacks on equipment in different cities, especially in the frontline regions. So the situation is really dangerous," he said.
However, power engineers continue to work on restoring facilities and repairs around the clock, as well as preparing for “another military heating season.” As part of these preparations, measures are being taken to strengthen the passive protection of energy facilities.
