  • NPP unit, which was put out of operation after missile attack, reconnected to country’s power grid, – German Galushchenko
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 13 December 2022 08:26

On December 13, 2022, at 1:09 a.m., after recovery works, another (ninth) Energoatom power unit (1,000 MW), which was put out of operation on November 23 as a result of missile attacks, has been reconnected to the power grid. The capacity is currently being restored.

“This is another step towards stability of the power system. All 9 power units of Ukrainian nuclear power plants located on the Ukraine-controlled territory are working to meet the needs of the population and the country’s economy,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

As a reminder, the russians are currently preventing the switch-on of power units of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP, which continues to consume more than 100 MW of electricity for its own needs from the Ukrainian power system.
