The stability of nuclear generation plays a particularly important role for Ukraine’s energy system, and radiation safety is the safety of both Ukraine and the region as a whole. That is why it is extremely important for international IAEA experts to conduct missions to nuclear power plants and substations that are crucial for the nuclear generation.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.

“Today we have a result, a successful result, a specific mission with clear tasks, a clear understanding, a decision at the international level, and the effectiveness of such a mission is extremely important today,” said Mykola Kolisnyk.

He reminded that the enemy was constantly attacking civilian energy facilities, in particular those essential for the operation of nuclear power plants.

“The massive attack on 26 August showed that there were no ‘red lines’ for the enemy. It is constantly attacking civilian energy facilities, including those on which the operation of nuclear power plants depends. We see numerous cases when these missiles fly close to nuclear generation facilities,” the Deputy Minister added, stressing that the involvement of the international expert community was one of the effective tools to counter the enemy.
