Effective implementation of the state budget in 2020 made it possible to raise the minimum wage, increase payments to all doctors, index pensions and support business and the economy. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal state during his introductory statement at a session of the Government March 24.

During the meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a report on the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020".

"Overfulfillment of the revenue part of the budget amounted to UAH 54 billion. We have launched changes in tax and customs and are starting to get the results. Thanks to the full implementation of the budget, we have managed to reduce the deficit from 7.5% of GDP to 5.3% of GDP," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine has succeeded in preventing the economic downturn that many other countries experienced.

"Much of the credit for the fact that we endured the crisis more gently last year is the state support of the economy," the Prime Minister stressed.

Denys Shmyhal added that the Government would submit the approved report on the implementation of the State Budget for 2020 to the Parliament, the President and the Accounting Chamber for consideration.
