During meeting of Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak with US,  UK, Canada, Lithuania, and Poland Ministers of Defence in Brussels, the US Secretary of Defence James Mattis, in his statement, valued great contribution of the Ukrainians to defend territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.

“Successful implementation of defence reform in Ukraine is directly connected with our common security – the US and NATO nations security“, Secretary Mattis remarked.

Moreover, in the course of talks the parties emphasised on a recent decision to provide a new instalment of the US assistance to Ukraine. This assistance will allow to enhance the dynamics and content of the ongoing large-scale reform within the Defence Ministry of Ukraine.

“Russia violates the international norms and rights. We have to proceed with high level meetings and to assist Ukraine”, James Mattis said.
