The Government of Ukraine and the World Bank have signed an agreement to provide a USD 200 million grant to finance the Restoration Project of Winterization and Energy Resources. The relevant document, prepared by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, was signed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and World Bank Managing Director Anna Bjerde in Washington, DC.
"We are aware that, following this winter's defeat, the enemy will try to disrupt the next heating season. That is why we have already started preparing for it. And the World Bank's assistance in this endeavor is crucial. This is a powerful contribution to the restoration of the energy infrastructure and strengthening its resilience," said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The agreement provides for the purchase, transportation and supply of various energy equipment. In particular, this includes autotransformers, measuring transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors and surge arresters, relay protection devices, substation automation equipment, etc.
