By the end of year, the quantity of pairs of trains to Mariupol will grow to 26-28, while travel time will be cut, says Prime Minister of Ukraine

By the end of this year, the situation with rail communication with Mariupol will improve: the quantity of pairs of trains will increase to 26-28 per day, while travel time will be reduced. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman following a meeting with acting Chairman of the Board of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov.

"I see the initiatives of Ukrzaliznytsia. This is relevant, but we must prolong work to change the situation towards improving", the Head of Government noted.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia information, work is currently under way to expand the capacity of the region. Moreover, due to the measures taken, most enterprises of Mariupol and the adjacent settlements have switched to railway transportation as the main way of delivery of goods. Thus, the load on the local highways has been reduced.

In the segment of passenger transport, Ukrzaliznytsya dissseminates successful experience in changing the system of cleaning passenger cars. And by the end of the year, the holding plans to purchase and upgrade at least 200 passenger cars.

"For 3-5 years it is crucial to demonstrate the new quality of railroad for passengers’ benefits", the Prime Minister stressed.
